This is the main thing we do. A tree gets cut down and you're left with a stump sticking out of your yard. We bring the grinder out, chew it down 6 to 8 inches below the surface, and fill the hole back in with the chips.

What does it cost?

Pricing is based on the size (diameter) of the stump. Single stumps typically run $75–$200. Multiple stumps get a better rate. We give you a firm number before we start.

How deep do you grind?

6 to 8 inches below grade by default. If you're planting grass or laying sod on top, that's plenty. Need it deeper for a specific reason? Just ask.

Surface root jobs are priced based on the overall length and density of the exposed roots. We'll give you a flat bid — not an hourly estimate.

Will it harm the rest of my yard?

Because the grinder only targets the specific root veins, the disruption to the surrounding grass is extremely minimal.

When we grind a stump, it makes a pile of wood chips. Some people want those spread out as mulch around the yard. Others want every last chip hauled off. We do either one — you just tell us which.

If there are surface roots sticking up near where the stump was, we can grind those down too. The goal is for your yard to look like there was never a tree there.

Is cleanup included in the price?

Spreading the chips in place is included. Hauling them off the property is an add-on — let us know when you call so we can factor it into the estimate.

Can I plant grass after?

Yes. Once we fill in the hole and rake the area flat, you can seed over it. The chip fill compacts down over a few weeks. Most people seed in the same season.
